Ground broken for NWK1 in Newark
Piling begins on a 9.4-acre site near Port Newark for a purpose-built second data center of 212,400 square feet.
Piling began this week for NWK1, our second data center, on a 9.4-acre site near Port Newark that we bought last year. The building will have 212,400 square feet over two levels, with Level 1 at 19.4 feet NAVD 88, and is due to open in the spring of 2020.
NWK1 is designed from the start around a flood line: no basement, critical plant above 20 feet, and a structure sized for a second floor when customers want it. It will be connected to SEC1 by dark fiber on two routes that share no trench.
