NWK1 opens beside Port Newark

Our second building opens on 412 piles, 8.4 feet above the base flood elevation, three months late and with fewer people at the ribbon than we planned.

NWK1, our second data center, opened today beside Port Newark: 212,400 square feet on 412 driven steel piles, with Level 1’s floor at 19.4 feet NAVD 88, 8.4 feet above the base flood elevation at the site.

Halls A and B are open, with 5.8 MW of critical IT capacity between them; Hall C will follow as demand requires. The building is connected to SEC1 by a 288-fiber route, with a second, diverse route due next year.

We are three months later than planned, for reasons everyone will understand, and the ribbon was cut this morning by six people standing a long way apart. Our thanks to the construction and commissioning teams who kept going through the spring.
